A New Horizon in Health

UNC Health needed a new logo and functional design system to reflect their updated brand and evolving role in health care. The refresh included a comprehensive set of assets and collateral, along with an in-depth digital brand asset management system to ensure accessibility and consistency across the organization.

The system’s identity was outdated and didn’t reflect its evolution beyond traditional health care. As UNC Health underwent cultural and operational transformation, the brand needed to convey empathy, expertise, and a modern, integrated approach to caring for people across North Carolina, while standing out from competitors like Duke Health and Novant Health.

The refreshed logo and identity balance the system’s heritage Carolina Blue with a modern secondary palette, creating a look that is both aspirational and approachable. Simplified brand architecture and extensive collateral enable cohesive communications, while asset management supports system-wide adoption. The result is a unified, modern brand that reflects UNC Health’s vision and fuels its transformation strategy.
